Dear Members of our St. Madeleine Sophie Family,
It is once again time for our Annual Fund Drive. As proud board members of St. Madeleine Sophie School, it is our humble pleasure to strive to uphold the mission of our school and to be a part of a strong community of parents, leaders and alumni. The success of our school is a personal and collaborative mission of each and every one of us. We humbly ask that you continue to support our staff, students and school community as we prepare these young children of God to continue to become leaders, learners and servants to the mission of our faith by donating to this important work.
Last year’s Annual Fund donations totaled just over $10,000 allowed us to continue the threefold purpose of the fund: tuition assistance to those families most in need; online and
in-person professional development opportunities for our teachers and staff, and keeping our technology up to date.
As our school continues to thrive and grow, safety is always a top priority, and the installation of cameras at every school entrance has enhanced security within our school. The addition of our full-time Math AIS and STEM teacher has been a tremendous support for all classes to better meet the needs of our students benefiting from differentiated instruction. This, combined with the collaboration of SMS teachers for enrichment opportunities, such as our very first, very successful Math Family Fun Night helps each student to reach their potential.
We are also so grateful for the meaningful relationships we have established within our parish family, including our ongoing joint effort with the Christ Child Society in a new Literacy initiative.
Within the community, we continue our partnership with Dr. Jessica Salmon’s Siena Research Methods class examining decision-making factors influencing re-enrollment. This year, we were very proud to partner with Dr. Bob Owens, world-renowned speech and language pathologist, who specializes in language development to provide language samples for his updated language assessment tools. Our alumni continue to support us in so many ways: returning to help prepare our fifth graders for the annual fifth grade vs. faculty volleyball game, sharing their expertise in architecture and in some cases, following tradition by sending their children to SMS.
With faith at our core, learning and service to others fill our days. Working with Sister Rosemary's PB&J program for Bethesda House, Reading for Ronald McDonald House and donating to our food pantry are hands-on ways for our students to serve others. The vibrancy of our school community can be witnessed amongst our student leaders, our energetic Home and School Association, as well as in the dedication and love of our faculty and administration. Our school is truly blessed. Please consider being a partner in this important mission!
With warmest regards,
St. Madeleine Sophie School Board
