A New School Year

The students and staff of St. Madeleine Sophie School have begun a new year of learning!  After weeks of thoughtful planning and preparation by our faculty the learning and fun has begun!  The hallways were a flurry of activity as both parents and students were excited to reconnect with their friends after summer.  A sure sign of the warm welcome our teachers prepared for our students was apparent when there were more parents crying in the hallways at drop off than there were friends crying in the classrooms.  (Plenty of hugs were given to children and adults alike!)  Ending our short week with our Annual Back to School Ice Cream Social gave everyone the opportunity to catch up while enjoying ice cream and a beautiful, cool evening.  We were blessed as always to have plenty of willing volunteers to continue this much loved tradition.  I always start the year reminding our school family of Margaret Mead's quote "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world.  Indeed it is the only thing that ever has."  That paired with our patroness St. Madeleine Sophie Barat's words of wisdom "Be Humble, Be Simple and Bring Joy to Others" give us direction, encouragement and guidance as we partner with families to educate the whole child in our amazing Catholic school.  Of course none of this would be possible without our generous parishioners. We look forward to all of the joy and adventures that this new year will bring!
