PreK 3- Ms. Eaton

Nicole Eaton

Hi, my name is Miss Nichole. I began working at Saint Madeleine Sophie in the Fall of 2024.

Our Three-Year-Old program at Saint Madeleine Sophie  School provides a learning environment focused heavily on socialization, developing basic skills like colors, shapes, and numbers, fostering independence and encouraging imaginative play through various learning centers.  We also balance this with teacher-led activities including circle time, story time, and art projects, all while prioritizing individual needs and promoting cooperation with peers.

Our classroom is set up with multiple learning centers: block area, art center, book area, and a sensory play area, allowing children to explore and learn through hands-on activities.

We emphasize sharing, taking turns, following directions, and interacting positively with other children through group activities and guided play.

The incorporation of the Frog Street curriculum helps to provide an introduction to letters and sounds that help us not only recognize the letters in our names but letters as a whole.

We learn basic number recognition, counting, sorting and simple patterning activities providing a fun introduction to Math.

For fine motor development students participate in activities including puzzles,  coloring , drawing, and using small manipulatives to strengthen hand-eye coordination. The children are given plenty of opportunities to play with different textures with play dough, floam, sand, finger paint, shaving cream and more.

We strive to get outdoors to play on a daily basis (weather permitting), for opportunities for physical activity like running, jumping, climbing to build gross motor skills. The children also take part in a weekly gym class.

Our friends love their weekly music class where they learn to dance, sing along, and clap to the rhythm. They are exposed to various types of music and sounds.

We also focus on life-skills where children are encouraged to dress themselves, use the bathroom independently, and clean up after playtime.

All of these great activities and opportunities take place in our loving classroom where we strive to provide a safe and happy environment and make learning fun.
