Health and Safety

The health and safety of our students is a priority at St. Madeleine Sophie School.  Our Nurse’s Office is currently staffed by two experienced, compassionate Registered Nurses, each working two and a half days per week.  Mrs. Lauren Kanai, a St. Madeleine Sophie School graduate herself and mother of two SMS graduates has dedicated herself to the children of our school since 2009.  Mrs. Kim Zwack has helped keep us healthy since 2013.  We are blessed to be able to rely on their expertise.

St. Madeleine Sophie School is fortunate to have such great relationships with the Guilderland Police Department and Fort Hunter Fire Department. Located directly across from our campus, Fort Hunter Fire personnel help us with fire prevention and safety, and are always there when we need them. Certified D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) instructors, provide the Guilderland Police Departments D.A.R.E. instruction to all 5th grade elementary students within the Guilderland School District including our Fifth grade class.  D.A.R.E. provides the students in our community with the necessary skills and information they need to make good life choices. They also partner with us for safety and emergency preparedness. We are grateful for the ways they protect and serve our community.
