Fifth Grade
Miss Scorzella
Hello! My name is Rebecca Scorzella, and I am thrilled to be a part of the St. Madeleine Sophie School family as a fifth-grade teacher. Having attended Catholic school for both my elementary and high school education, I feel a deep connection to the values and community that define SMS.
Fifth grade is a pivotal year in a child’s educational journey. Not only do we prepare our students for the challenges of middle school, but we also nurture their growth as leaders within our school community. Our fifth graders participate in a special leadership ceremony at the church, where they receive their leadership pins—symbols of their commitment and responsibility. These pins are worn with pride and serve as a reminder of the vital role they play in our school environment.
Leadership is a fundamental aspect of our daily activities, whether in the classroom or navigating the halls. Throughout the year, we focus on developing skills that empower our students to embrace their roles as leaders and role models. By the end of fifth grade, your child will not only be academically prepared for the transition to middle school but will also have formed lasting friendships and cherished memories at SMS.
I truly believe that the bonds formed here will inspire our students to always return to their SMS family, no matter where their future paths may lead. I am excited to guide your child through this important year and watch them flourish!
